Free soulmate sketch: what free gets you, and what it does not
Free versions exist. Here is what each kind actually gives you, where the price shows up, and how to tell before you enter an email or a card.

Yes, a free soulmate sketch exists, in several forms, and none of them is quite what the search suggests. The free ones are usually a photo filter, a random face generator, or the first step of a quiz or app that charges later. This guide walks through each kind, what it gives you, what it costs once you get past the free step as of September 2026, and how to tell which you are looking at before you type in an email address.
What “free soulmate sketch” usually means
When we looked at Google US results for “soulmate sketch free” and “soulmate drawing free” on September 29, 2026, the pages were mostly social and video posts (Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Reddit, Facebook), a stock photo page, and a few tool or listing pages. One TikTok result was titled “How to See Your Soulmate Sketch on Astra for Free.” That is a snapshot of what ranked on one day, not a statement about what each page offers.
What the searcher wants is usually a face, drawn for them, without paying. What they find falls into four families.
The kinds of free soulmate sketch
Filters and photo-to-sketch tools
A photo-to-sketch tool takes a picture you upload and turns it into a pencil-style drawing. It is a fine way to make a portrait of your dog. It is not a soulmate sketch, because the face comes from the photo you supplied, not from anything you told it about the person you imagine. They turn up here because searchers ask about them: “How can I turn a photo into a sketch for free?” is one of the questions Google shows for this search.
Face generators
A generator makes a face from a prompt or a few settings, and a new try can give you a new face. Several AI soulmate-drawing pages in the September 29 results advertised a free try in their titles, such as “Free, Fun & Realistic” and “Free Try in 2026”; what happens after the first try is something to check on each site. What a generator does not give you on its own is a written reading, or anything that reflects who you are beyond what you typed. If you use one, you are doing the imagining yourself.
Quizzes with the price at the end
This is the family that surprises people. When we walked through several soulmate sketch sign-up flows on September 29, 2026, without paying, the pattern was consistent: answer the questions first, then see the price.
- mysoulmatesketch.app showed $1.99 and then $39.99 per month, with a one-time $19.99 option only in its Terms.
- seeyoursoulmate.net showed $4.99, with the portrait blurred until payment.
- synastrychart.org showed $14.99 per month, with a login required to see the portrait.
- Ceerly showed $1 for 3 days.
Those were the prices on the pages on that date. We did not pay for any of them, and prices may change or differ by country. None of them is wrong to charge. The point is that “free” in the search result and “$1.99 today” on the last screen are different offers.
Apps and trials that renew
Some soulmate sketches sit inside an astrology app. Their pricing pages and store listings say what that means, and here is what they said as of September 2026:
- Hint (hint.app/pricing, read from the US on September 29, 2026): “$1.00 for your 7-day trial, $29.99 every 28 days after your trial. Cancel anytime.” The page adds: “No, Hint is not free but a recurrent subscription service.” The Soulmate Sketch is listed as part of the subscription, and its terms (last updated July 10, 2026) list some extras sold separately, including faster delivery and a “Real Soulmate Sketch”.
- Astra - Life Advice (by Vert Ventures LLC): the US App Store listing says “*Access to Astra requires a paid subscription”, and its terms (last updated June 26, 2025) say “We offer a 3-day free trial to new users who register with the Services.” Its terms also call its sketch “a product of imagination and artistic rendering.”
- Starla (US App Store): a weekly subscription at $3.99, a monthly subscription at $9.99, a yearly subscription at $59.99. Its terms (last updated September 15, 2025) say subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period.
- Nebula: its help center (June 11, 2026) says that after purchasing a Soulmate Sketch Reading you receive an email with access details within 30 minutes, and the sketch is available inside the app.
We did not verify the price of Nebula’s sketch, the length of Starla’s trial, or how each app makes its sketches, so we say nothing on those. Names of apps overlap too. There are several “Astra” apps, which is why we name the developer. For plan-by-plan detail on these three, including how to cancel each, see our guide to Nebula, Starla and Astra pricing.
What free gets you, and what it does not
| What you use | What you get | What it costs, as of September 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| A photo-to-sketch filter | Your uploaded photo, redrawn in a sketch style | Not priced here; it is not about a soulmate |
| A face generator | A face; possibly a new one each try | Some advertise a free try; check what follows |
| A quiz that asks for payment at the end | A portrait after you pay | Between $1 and $39.99 at checkout, some of it monthly (walk-through, September 29, 2026) |
| An astrology app | The sketch as part of a subscription | Hint: $1.00 for 7 days, then $29.99 per 28 days; Astra and Starla: paid plans (store listings) |
| The Soulmate Studio | A portrait and a short reading from your answers | $19, paid once, no subscription |
Two questions cut through most of the noise. Is it personal to you? A filter and a random generator are not, because neither takes your answers. What does it cost after the free step? In the offers we checked, that is where the number appears.
How to tell a “free” offer that is not free
These are patterns we saw in the sign-up flows we walked through on September 29, 2026. They are not accusations against any one site, since plenty of honest businesses use them. They are things worth noticing.
- An email before a price. In several flows the email came before the price, or the price only appeared at checkout. If you cannot see a number before you type your email, assume there is one.
- A crossed-out “was” price. Two offers showed a “was” price: a $19 offer that said it was $50, and a $39.99 offer that said it was $97.
- A trial that renews. Read the Terms for the words “renews automatically” and “until canceled”. A $1 trial that turns into a plan billed every month or every 28 days costs far more than the first charge, so the renewal price is the number to compare.
- A blurred result. One flow showed the portrait blurred until payment. That is a legitimate way to sell a portrait, and it means the free step did not include the portrait.
None of these makes an offer bad. They just mean it is not free. Most of the one-time prices we saw sat between $19 and $40; the others were a lower one-time price, or a small first payment followed by a subscription. Our guide to whether soulmate sketches are real or fake turns these patterns into a checklist you can use on any seller.
What ours is, and what it costs
The Soulmate Studio sketch is not free, and we say so up front. It is $19, paid once, no subscription. You answer seven quick questions in about a minute, and we send one personalized portrait in our signature pencil-sketch style, delivered as a high-resolution image ready to print, plus a short written reading of around 300 words based on your sun sign and your answers. It arrives by email, usually within minutes and always within 24 hours.
Compared with a free generator, four things differ. The face comes from your own answers, not from a random draw. The style stays the same from portrait to portrait. There is a reading beside it. And the price is on the page before the quiz, not after.
We tell you how it is made, once. Portraits are created with AI image tools in our pencil-sketch style, and readings are composed with AI writing tools. Our method has been reviewed and approved by an independent practicing psychic we commissioned. She approved the method only, and we do not claim psychic powers or predictions. The person in the portrait is imagined, not predicted, and not a real person. It is for entertainment and reflection. If you want the step-by-step, how it works has it, and there is a sample reading you can read before you decide.
Before you enter card details, anywhere
Whatever you choose, a few questions are worth answering from the page itself, and you can hold us to the same ones.
- Who runs it? Ours is Westernmost LLC, 32 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA.
- Who can order? You must be 18 or over, and the sketch is not available in Japan, Mexico or Thailand.
- What happens to your answers? We delete your answers, reading and image 90 days after delivery, as our privacy page explains.
- What does it cost, and does it renew? Ours is one payment. For an app, the renewal wording in the terms is the part to read. Hint’s terms, updated July 10, 2026, say recurring prices currently range from approximately $1.00 per day to $69.00 per billing period, with the most common plan renewing monthly at $30.00 to $40.00.
- What if it goes wrong? Look for what happens if an order does not arrive or comes out broken. Ours is below.
If something goes wrong
Each portrait is made to order, so the sale is final once creation starts. If yours does not arrive or is faulty, we make it again, or refund you if we cannot deliver it. The full wording is on our terms page.
So, should you pay?
If you want a quick laugh, a free generator or a filter on a photo of your dog will do it, and you do not need to pay for that. If you want a portrait that starts from your own answers, with one consistent look and a short reading next to it, that is what our soulmate sketch is for, and the price is what we say it is.
If you are still working out what you are looking for, our article on who is my soulmate covers the ways people try to answer that, and soulmate by birth date covers what a birthday can and cannot say. If Hint is the one you are weighing, we read its pricing page and terms in detail in our guide to the Hint soulmate sketch. You can look at the example portraits in the gallery, or start the quiz.
Example portraitCommon questions
How to get a soulmate sketch for free?
You can get a sketch-style image free from a photo filter or a face generator, or start a free trial in an app. The trials we checked in September 2026 lead to paid plans, so read the price and renewal terms before adding a card. A free image is a picture, not a reading of your answers.
Is there an actual free Soulmate sketch?
Free-to-start versions exist, but among the offers whose prices we could see on September 29, 2026, none gave a personalized soulmate sketch without a payment, a paid trial or a subscription. Astra's terms mention a 3-day free trial, and Hint's pricing page says it is not free. Treat any headline that says free with care.
Is there a free app that can draw my soulmate?
Apps can let you start free, but the three we checked on September 29, 2026 (Hint, Astra and Starla) each list paid subscriptions or a paid trial. Astra's terms describe a 3-day free trial. Starla lists weekly, monthly and yearly plans in the US App Store. Check the renewal terms before you begin.
How can I get an accurate soulmate sketch?
No soulmate sketch can be accurate about a real future person, because nobody can know one. A portrait can be accurate to your answers: the age you asked for, the style of person you described, the details you chose. Ask whether the maker says it is imagined, and whether the price and terms are stated up front.
